Firstly, identify the source of this stress. Is it a situation that can be changed or is it something which cannot be controlled by you. For example, stress due to examination can be dealt with by preparing in advance and following a schedule. But if the stress is due to someone else’s behavior then it is not under your control since you cannot control other people’s actions and behaviors but can change our attitude towards it. Changing our thinking process coupled with relaxation techniques like deep breathing ( 20 long breaths) and progressive muscle relaxation would help. Regular exercise, fixed schedule and indulging in creative activities that you like will also help in reducing stress.
